Oharah Files for 4th District Seat
Uniontown resident Lynne Oharah is the Republican candidate for the Kansas House of Representatives Fourth District seat.
A semi-retired businessman, Oharah said his goals and agenda for the Fourth District have not changed since his was a member of the Kansas House in 2005 and 2006.
“I still believe the only way to stimulate economic growth for the Fourth District and Kansas is through good legislation that benefits both consumers and business and makes us competitive regionally, nationally and internationally,” Oharah said. “We need to accelerate the implementation of a comprehensive energy plan that incorporates all of our energy resources and technologies to reduce our dependence on foreign oil, protect the environment and keep energy prices affordable for consumers and profitable for business.”
Kansas House Speaker Melvin Neufeld (R-Ingalls) said the state faces a slowing economy and Kansans need lawmakers like Oharah who understand the importance of economic development. “It’s important to have a leader like Lynne in this seat,” Speaker Neufeld said. “The district would be well-served by a candidate focused on the real needs of Kansans in our current economic climate.”
Oharah currently serves on the Uniontown School Board. He also belongs to the Fort Scott Rotary Club and the Fort Scott Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the United Methodist Church in Mapleton.
“I am looking forward to hearing the concerns and ideas of the citizens of the Fourth District and through hard work and your support we will reach our goals,” Oharah said. The Fourth District includes Lynn County and most of Bourbon County.
